Swank
Swank is a sculptural decanter — a vessel that balances purpose with presence. Created by artist Raul Lopez Pomares, it explores the space where function doesn’t diminish form, but deepens it.
With a tall, sinuous profile rising from a dense, folded base, Swank carries movement and posture. It gestures upward, twisting with a kind of theatrical elegance — confident, maybe even a little self-aware. Though it serves as a decanter, it resists being reduced to utility. It asks to be seen, even when at rest.
Pomares’ work often lives in the tension between ritual and expression. In this piece, the act of pouring becomes sculptural, and the object itself a kind of performer — functional, but never silent.
